Michael Christofferson’s photography focuses on Queens, New York where he also lives. He has studied photography at the International Center of Photography and in the studio of Christopher Giglio. He is currently working on a book entitled Changing Queens, which brings together his images of Queens landscapes with his reflections on the history of the borough to elucidate contemporary Queens and synergize the relationship between history and photography. His work appeared in the 2020 exhibit “#ICPConcerned: Global Images for Global Crisis.” He presented Changing Queens at the 2025 edition of Review Santa Fe’s juried portfolio review. Most recently, a photo from his Changing Queens project was selected for inclusion in The Photo Review’s 2026 competition web gallery. He is also Professor of History at Adelphi University in Garden City, NY.
